RIO DE JANEIRO, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Former Arsenal midfielder Edu Gaspar is poised to return to the Premier League club as football director next season.
Gaspar will leave his current post as Brazil's national team coordinator in July following the Copa America, respected Brazilian football journalist Juca Kfouri said on Monday.
Gaspar, 40, made 79 appearances for Arsenal between 2001 and 2005, scoring seven goals. He was an integral part of Arsene Wenger's Invincibles that won the 2003-04 Premier League title without losing a match.
He retired in 2010 after a 13-year professional that also included spells with Corinthians and Valencia. Gaspar was capped 15 times for Brazil's national team.
He has been the Selecao coordinator since June 2016.
