ACCRA, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association has lined up two international friendly matches for the Black Stars ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana will play Namibia and South Africa in two high profile matches in Dubai prior to the competition next month.

The friendlies will help Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah to select his final 23-man contingent for the AFCON which is due in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.

The Black Stars are expected to begin their training camp in Dubai on June 1 and fly to Egypt for the tournament on June 20.

Ghana is drawn in Group F of the 2019 AFCON with Cameroon, Benin, and Guinea Bissau and will play Benin in the opening group match on June 25.

Twenty-four teams will participate in this year's AFCON.

The top two from each group will go through to the last 16, while the best four third-placed teams also progress, meaning only eight teams are eliminated in the group stages.

Ghana are four-time AFCON champions and last won the trophy 37 years ago in Libya.
