NEW DELHI, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the meeting of the Council of Heads of State (CHS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek, on June 13-14, the Ministry of External Affairs announced Monday.
This will be the second CHS meeting after India became member of the SCO. Modi had also attended the last CHS meeting in Qingdao, China, last year.
The leaders participating in the summit are expected to focus their discussions on the global security situation, multilateral economic cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and also on topical issues of international and regional importance.
On the sidelines of CHS meeting, the prime minister's programme in Bishkek will include a number of bilateral meetings.
India actively took part in various SCO dialogue mechanisms under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan over the past year, added the ministry sources.
