QALAT, Afghanistan, June 22 (Xinhua) -- At least seven militants affiliated to the Taliban group were killed and 13 others wounded following a clash in Afghanistan southern Zabul province, said an army statement released here Saturday.
The clash happened on Friday evening in Daychopan district of the province, where Afghan forces clashed with a group of Taliban insurgents, killing seven fighters and wounding 13 others, the statement added.
A large quantity of arms and ammunitions including explosive materials and seven motorbikes had been seized during the fighting lasted for a few hours, the statement further said.
Taliban militants have not commented on the incident yet.
