BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhua) -- The classic ballet "Giselle" will be staged at the National Center for the Performing Arts on August 10 and 11.

The ballet, to be performed by the Teatro alla Scala Ballet Company from Italy, tells a story of love, betrayal and redemption between merry village festivities.

The performance presents a contrast between a bright and cheerful world and a dark, frightful kingdom populated by spirits.
