KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Kuwaiti Journalists Association (KJA) launched on Sunday a forum of female journalists from across the Gulf region to boost media cooperation in the region.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kuwaiti Information Minister Mohammad Al-Jabri said women have started to make a name for themselves in the field of journalism.
Such gatherings are tantamount to women's empowerment, said Adnan Al-Rashid, KJA's secretary, highlighting the major progress female journalists have made in the Gulf region.
The three-day forum aims to promote inter-Gulf media cooperation and reflect deep media ties between Kuwait and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
It also aims at empowering Gulf female media representatives, encouraging them to carry out creative media programs and improving women's living conditions.
